Don't Take The Easy Way Out

Your smile matters. Did you know that people, when they go to interview for jobs, are sometimes judged by the health of their smile? When you are in the field of customer service, and you have to smile and share your smile with others, it is critical you have a healthy smile.

Bad-breath, decay, or missing teeth can not only impact your body, your self-esteem but your career prospects as well. Taking the time to visit your cosmetic dentist and map out what you need to have happened for your smile will ensure you have a healthy smile that will last a lifetime.

A cosmetic dental visit can allow you an opportunity to sit down and really map out what is happening with your smile and what you want to have the end result be. While you may go in for a cleaning, and hope for the best, time spent talking about, analyzing, and really learning about what is happening with your smile is the key. You deserve to have a healthy smile that lasts a lifetime, and we can help you get there.

Don’t Leave Your Smile Vulnerable

You deserve to have a beautiful and healthy smile. Do not leave your smile vulnerable to cavities, periodontal disease or missing, cracked or broken teeth. Taking time to visit your cosmetic dentist and receive a consultation on your smile, can ensure you are on the right track. Nowadays, grabbing a soda and candy bar for lunch may be the norm for you. However, that amount of sugar can impact your smile.

There are so many choices you can make during the day. If you are going to consume sugar or a high carbohydrate meal, instead of waiting until bedtime to brush, you might want to consider brushing your teeth or rinsing with water to remove some of the food particles from the surface of your teeth. The longer these items are glued to the enamel on your teeth the more damage that is done.

If you find you are struggling to have a healthy smile you love, contact Dr. Judy Strutz and her team. They can help evaluate and work with you on a plan to get your smile back in order. It is critically important you have a healthy smile because if not it can lead to other more detrimental problems later on.

3 Benefits of Chewing Sugar Free Gum

Do you love to chew gum but worry about the impact on your smile? Are you worried that you are going to damage your teeth, pull out a filling or negatively impact your jaw? Here are 3 benefits of chewing gum that can, in fact, benefit your smile.

1.     Chewing gum helps create saliva. When you consume foods that have high amounts of carbohydrates in them, food can stay stuck to your teeth. This puts you at risk for decay and cavities. Chewing gum allows saliva to build up in your mouth and on your teeth in order to rinse food from your smile in between brushing.
2.     Gum can help neutralize the acids that build up in your mouth over time and the bacteria that can stick to your teeth. During your day, bacteria continues to build and can stick to the surface of your teeth. This bacteria buildup, over time, can damage tooth enamel.
3.     Gum that has Xylitol in it is shown to decrease the risk of bacteria that grows in your mouth that causes cavities.  When xylitol is present in the mouth it decreases the risk of the bacteria sticking to your tooth enamel and causing cavities to form.
