5 Ways To Improve Your Smile

A healthy and beautiful smile is a great way to start off the New Year. How do you get there? It can be difficult with all of the different products and commercials out there to determine the best ways to really have the smile you want.

1.     Brush regularly. This is nothing new. You have probably been hearing this since you were a small child. There is no other way to remove food from the surface of the teeth but to brush and remove food from the enamel.
2.     Floss. Flossing regularly means that you do not have food build up on your gums.
Build- up the gums can cause bleeding, inflammation and more severe problems later on such as periodontal disease.
3.     Consume healthy fruits and vegetables. Food that has a higher quantity of water in it helps to remove food from the surface of the teeth. When you consume vegetables and fruits it rinses the teeth so that food does not stay stuck on the enamel.
4.     Decrease the amount of carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are a sticky substance that sticks to the enamel.
5.     Visit the cosmetic dentist to take care of any problems. While a crack, broken or missing tooth might seem like a very small problem. It is actually a problem that can get out of hand if not taken care of.

Your smile can last a lifetime when it is taken care of. For more information on how to keep your smile healthy, contact Dr. Strutz and her team today.

Your Smile

Your teeth are the backbone to your smile but did you know that your smile is also linked to your overall health? If you have decay, periodontal disease, cracked or broken teeth it can lead to other problems. For example, a heart attack or a decrease in energy. It can also make it very painful and difficult to consume food that you once loved leading to depression and an overall sense of sadness. When you have infection it is not something that can go away on its own. You also do not want to have your body in a tailspin trying to fight an on-going infection.

How do you combat the problems or the infection? First, you need to schedule a visit with your cosmetic dentist. While regular brushing and flossing will help things from getting worse, it will not help the infection go away. Visiting with your cosmetic dentist will ensure that you are able to come up with a treatment plan that is going to not only get rid of the infection it will also allow you to develop a plan to ensure the underlined problem is taken care of.

Dental infections do not just go away. You must receive treatment of sorts in order to be sure that the infection is taken care of and not going to return any time soon. For more information or to schedule a consultation, contact Dr. Judy Strutz and her team.

Don’t Keep Quiet!

There are times when sharing your deepest darkest secrets is not in your best interest. Sometimes you need to hide behind something and not share it with everyone. Your dental history, pain, and dental goals are not something you should hide. It is something you need to share with your dentist to ensure that you have the best support that you need. You cannot get help if you are not being honest with your dental team.

Sometimes we feel shame about the decisions we have made. You might even guilty we don’t floss or brush enough. Maybe, you didn’t take care of your smile and that is why you are feeling like there is a problem. Nothing can be done if you don’t give yourself an honest chance to succeed. You run the risk of causing a larger problem to your smile. Sometimes the decisions that can be made to change or fix your smile is done sooner rather than later. It gives you and your dental team more options to ensure you have the beautiful and healthy smile you deserve.
