There are a hundred at home remedies coming your way to fix and restore your smile to a healthier state. Our smile can positively impact our first impression, communicate our wants and needs to a partner, or let a friend know we’re happy to see them. An unhealthy smile can decrease our positive relationships. Here are six tips to help you get your smile back.

1.     Dr. Strutz states, “Brushing regularly twice a day is the recommendation in order to remove food from the gums and teeth.”

2.     Floss at least once a day. There is no other way to remove food from between the teeth.

3.     “Visit the dentist regularly. Visiting the dentist helps to correct any developing problems and to give early options to reverse the impact of dental decay,” Dr. Judy Strutz.

4.     Fix missing or broken teeth. Once you lose one tooth it is common to lose others due to a decrease in bone stimulation. Replace and restore is a good way to keep your mouth fit.

5.     Utilize natural whiteners such as natural fruit that help whiten your teeth. Think strawberries.

6.     Drink more water. Water helps remove food from the teeth in between eating.

3 Tips On Picking A Specialty Dentist

It can be difficult to wade through all the options when you are looking for someone to restore your smile. There are specialty dentists on every corner, and there are plenty of people that will tell you they will fix your smile, but you should be careful when you are looking for someone who can update your smile. In order to restore your smile to the best it can be, follow these three steps:

1.     Do your research. Look on-line and see what reviewers say. If there are a number of reviews, but over half of them are not positive, you may want to consider another dentist.  Take a look at the dental office’s Facebook, LinkedIn, & Twitter accounts. Do they post stuff about their office? Do they project an image that is pleasing to you? A place where you want to be?

2.     Take your time in picking someone that is right for you and not just the individual that is the closest to your home or office.  Completing a little bit of research can save you time and money in the long run. It can help you avoid making mistakes or choosing someone that is going to leave your smile as or more damaged than before.

3.     Ask questions. When you set up your consultation, "Ask questions, lots of questions,” says, Dr. Judith Strutz. “Your caregiver should be able to answer questions about restorative procedures, the lab they use, the quality of the products, why they are recommending that particular treatment and how much your investment to fix your smile will be.

The Facts You May Not Have About Sleep Apnea

Sleep apnea is a disorder that impacts millions of adults on a yearly basis. While there has been some recent research on sleep apnea and the effects on your body, here is some information you may not have been aware of.
1.     24% of women and 52% of men have sleep apnea but go undiagnosed every year. Many individuals who struggle to sleep or wake up throughout the night attribute the cause to something other than sleep apnea, such as too much caffeine, dogs barking at night or a loved one snoring.
 2. Sleep apnea is sometimes diagnosed as something else. “While you may visit the doctor looking for a help, sleep apnea symptoms are broad. Sometimes it can be diagnosed, as depression, anxiety, fatigue or a number of other medical conditions depending upon your symptoms,” says Dr. Judy Strutz.
3. Dentists specializing in sleep apnea can treat the problem utilizing a variety of dental remedies The cause of sleep apnea may be due to a small pallet or the position of the jaw when you are lying down. By diagnosing the problem and the cause, Dr. JudithStrutz is able to treat your sleep apnea many times by using a dental device instead of a large and noisy c-pap machine.
