Do You Have Concerns About Oral Cancer?

It seems that oral cancer is not talked about as often as other cancers. This, however, does not mean that it isn't deadly. Did you also know that you can get oral cancer even if you have not smoked or chewed tobacco? One of the problems people face with oral cancer is that it often goes undiagnosed until it is a problem. We know a higher rate of people surviving oral cancer when tested for it early, and it is taken care of. So, how do you do this?

By calling Dr. Judy Strutz and her team to schedule an appointment, you can get an early oral cancer screening. While it used to be more common among older individuals, this has steadily changed over time. If you have a growth in your mouth, you can't explain if you are a moderate to heavy drinker or smoker. Or you have other health risks. It is in your best interest to get this taken care of and error on the side of safety.

For more information or to schedule your appointment, contact Dr. Judy Strutz and her team today!

Take A Break From The Hectic Pace Of Life

Do you find yourself running around all summer? Are you shuttling your children from one sport to a lesson of sorts to a play date to a water park to keep them busy and out of the house. You may find in the summertime your pace is more hectic than during the school year. Perhaps now is the time to take a deep breath and schedule a much-needed cosmetic dental appointment that you have been putting off. Climb into the comfortable chair, sit back, relax and let Dr. Judy Strutz and her team take care of you for a while. It can be so easy to get caught up in what everyone needs around us that we forget to take care of ourselves, but your dental health is critical to the health of your entire body and you do not have a better time than now to take care of it.

You may think that sitting in the dentist’s chair is not exactly the relaxing experience that you had in mind, but here are 4 reasons why Dr. Strutz and her team are worth the summer break.

1.     You do not have to look at your phone, answer an email or a text for the entire time of your visit. It’s okay, we give you permission to shut it off, read a book while you wait, or just close your eyes and bask in the quiet.
2.     You get to sit in a comfy chair with quiet. The chairs recline and all you have to do is sit back.. Someone is there for you to just recline you to luxury.
3.     You do not have to talk until the visit is over.
4.     Your smile will feel pampered and better when you leave, giving you an opportunity to share it with the world.

What are you waiting for? Schedule your appointment today and take a break from your daily businesses.

Are You A Candidate For Veneers?

There is so much information about veneers that it may leave you feeling dizzy. How do you know if veneers are right for you? Do you really need veneers or are there other treatments that can be used to keep your smile looking great? Dr. Judy Strutz has 3 things to look for in order to evaluate whether veneers may be right for you, however, a consultation can always be scheduled in order to determine if you are a candidate to improve your smile with veneers.

1.     Do you have uneven teeth? Veneers can help reshape your teeth to look more natural. If your smile has been impacted in a way that causes your teeth to look uneven when you smile, veneers can add back the shape you are looking for.
2.     Do you have stains on your teeth? Stains from smoking, food, and other reasons can cause you to attempt to hide your smile instead of showing it off to the world. If you have stains that are on your teeth and you have tried other whitening procedures without success, you may be a candidate for veneers.
3.     Do you have cracks, chips or breaks in your teeth? If there are not other concerns with the teeth that are cracked, chipped or broken then veneers may be the best option for you to get the look you are going for.

While veneers may not be right for everyone, they are a great solution for individuals who are looking to upgrade their smile this summer. Contact Dr. Judy Strutz and her team for more information today.

Get The Facts About Dental Crowns

Dental crowns are essential for a variety of reasons. Get the facts on how and why dental crowns can help improve your smile. If a tooth needs strengthening a dental crown is an excellent way to improve the tooth’s structure and retain function. A crown provides a stable chewing surface and when a tooth is injured, broken or cracking, can help prevent it from needing to be extracted.

A dental crown is a cover that fits over the tooth. This helps to allow you to consume food you used to enjoy, but may not have been able to eat due to dental pain. They are extremely durable and allow you to protect the tooth’s structure.

Dental crowns used to only be made of metal. Now patients are fortunate enough to have options when it comes to the type of crown they can get. Crowns can be made of porcelain – a material that will match the color of the rest of your teeth. A dental crown can last a long time. When they are taken care of, crowns may not need to be replaced for years to come. Once the crown is placed you are able to eat and consume food that you used to love and enjoy.

Facts About A Prosthodontist

A prosthodontist is a dental specialist that has advanced training in oral health issues such as occlusion (bite issues), reconstruction (difficult cases) and overall function. If you have missing teeth or have advanced stages of oral cancer that has done damage to your jaw structure or face, Dr. Judy Strutz is the specialist to call. According to the American Dental Association there are only 3,372 prosthodontists that work in the United States.

Over 35 million individuals have a tooth or more missing, and while you may want to just go to a regular dentist, sometimes it’s a specialist that is really the best trained person for the job. Dr. Judy Strutz and her team are there to help when others have been unable to. In fact, they often see what others deem as the hopeless dental patient.

Unfortunately once you are missing one tooth, you are more likely to lose more. Missing teeth can cause problems with overall health, obesity, coronary artery disease, and other significant health problems that can be life changing. Having a permanent solution to a missing tooth, can restore your health and your overall quality of life.  Did you know about 23 million are completely edentulous (have no teeth) and about 12 million are edentulous in one arch? You do not have to be one of the millions Americans that are impacted by this problem.

For more information on options to fix your missing teeth, contact Dr. Judy Strutz and her team.
