Stress and Your Dental Prosthodontic Visit

It can be overwhelming when you think about your upcoming visit to Dr. Strutz and her team. Chances are you are headed that direction in order to improve your smile or the ability for your teeth to function together so you can eat better. This visit may include several hours of work and may mean you have to take time off of work and away from other things. But this is important and you will feel 100% better once you get the smile you want. In order to help you keep your stress level down prior to your visit Dr. Strutz recommends these 3 things.

1.     Prior to the visit, ask questions. Don’t spend time being worried about things that you are not sure of or the what if’s. If you have questions, spend time with Dr. Judy Strutz and her team asking those questions.
2.     Take deep breaths and remind yourself this is helping you to improve the appearance or health of your smile. Helping to breathe through the stress and anxiety can help you to get through anything. This technique can also be used during the dental visit.
3.     Do yoga or another exercise prior to your visit. This will help you to feel relaxed prior to the visit and increase your endorphins to improve your overall mood.
