Are You Brushing Your Teeth Too Rigorous?

Are you brushing your teeth regularly? We sure hope so. However, if you are brushing vigorously or brushing for longer than 2 minutes you might be doing more harm than good. That may seem impossible but brushing too hard or brushing for longer than 2 minutes can cause your gums to recede.  While we certainly do not want you to stop brushing and taking care of your smile, it is critically important you are careful with your teeth and gums. Receding gums can then lead to bacteria building up and enamel can begin to wear away. Being careful about your teeth and protecting them is critical.

If you continue to brush too hard it can also cause cavities, a need for a root canal or even more expensive dental procedures. Taking care of your smile is your top priority and we want to be sure you have the tools to protect your smile. Always use a soft-bristled toothbrush, gently brush for 2 minutes and in gentle circles. These easy steps can ensure you have the smile you deserve for a lifetime.

Healthy Dental Habits Is A Family Affair

Once a family works and bonds together in order to create a beautiful and healthy smile the world of health can open up, but make no mistake, it is truly a family affair because obtaining a healthy smile is more than just brushing and flossing and when your family bonds together, it can become easier to achieve the goal. Here are 5 tips to help get your family started.

1.     Go to the store together and shop for toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss and other dental needs. This helps get the whole family involved and ensures that every person gets the healthy dental thing they love.
2.     Grocery shop together and hold each other accountable. If someone is reaching to throw those pita chips or the frozen pizza in the cart. Remind them that you are on a path to dental health that starts from the inside out. Grab vegetables and fruits instead to snack on. The higher the water content the better.
3.     Don’t forget to grab water bottles for the family. As it heats up outside, we are more prone to dry mouth and dehydration. This is the perfect opportunity for bacteria to take advantage and begin to destroy your smile.
4.     Have fun together during this process. The more you laugh and the more fun it is the more likely you are to stick with it.

Replace Your Old Dentures This Spring

Spring is the time to evaluate where your overall health is and where you want to head in the future. Your dentures may have done the trick thus far, but now there is a better option that can help you enjoy the warm weather. Replacing old dentures with fixed dentures can allow you to bend over to plant your garden without the fear of your teeth falling in the dirt.

The amazing quality of an All-on-4 type of denture will help you to feel like a million bucks this spring without paying one for your smile.

Fixed dentures can help you to replace missing and broken teeth just like regular dentures. The great thing about these dentures, though, is that instead of them lying on your gums, they are fixed to dental implants that are placed in the jawbone. This keeps the dentures in place instead of having them move around in your mouth.  Walk in with removable dentures, and walk out with a fixed solution that helps you live the life, this spring, you are looking for.
